Mr. Yaworski Interview! getting to know me!

Who are you?
My name is Tim Yaworski; most of the kids call me Mr. Yaworski or Mr. Y.
Where are you from?
I am a Canadian from the town of Chateauguay, Quebec, Canada.
Do you have any family?
Yes! I have an awesome and supportive family back home in Canada, My Mum and Dad and older brother are all back home along with my dog Buck! MY Finance has also joined me in this journey and is working as a teacher’s assistant in the country as well!
What are you favorite hobbies?
Growing up in Canada it’s no secret that I played Ice hockey, though I do play rugby, baseball, football. I also love music, singing and playing guitar are other hobbies that I have.
What made you get into teaching?
Teaching has always been a career that I valued growing up, though I wasn't the best student growing up I would have to claw and scratch for every passing mark, I always valued the hard work that educators put into every class every day. When I went on to University it was an easy decision to follow my passion for helping others through education.
What is you biggest value or trait you look for in your students and yourself?
I tell my kids when I walk into a classroom for the first time, exactly what I expect from them:
Honesty; don't ever lie to me, how will I believe you anytime thereafter if you do?
Hard work; it may be cliché, but I expect 100% effort from my students, giving your all is paramount in my classroom. I'm a firm believer that answers are not given to students but found by them. Education is a two way street, there are times when students need to find out answers to their own questions in order to gain a deeper understanding of what it is they seek to know.
